Results from a recent survey of small business owners and executives show that “69% percent wish they could focus all of their attention on their actual business and leave the daily tasks to someone else.”

Finding the Time to Focus on Business a Challenge for Small Business Owners

Survey after survey of small business owners show that small business owners are filling numerous, if not all, roles at their companies. The most recent survey to announce these findings is from Staples. Staples recently released the results from its 7th Annual National Small Business Survey and announced that “69% percent [of respondents] wish they could focus all of their attention on their actual business and leave the daily tasks to someone else”. The conclusion to draw from this result is simple – small business owners are crunched for time. But that conclusion does not answer the question of “Why are small business owners so crunched for time?” The answer may be linked to how many hats they wear. See image above and text below.

Not Enough Heads to Wear all of the Necessary Small Business Hats

Results from a survey from eVoice found that 90% of small business owners fill 3 or more roles daily, with 44% filling 5 or more. That is a lot of hats, and it tends to support the findings from Staples. If small business owners are filling so many roles, it is no wonder that they are unable to find the time to focus their attention on “their actual business and leave the daily tasks to someone else.” The eVoice survey results also put a dollar value on that extra time – 95% of small business owners agreed that the value of one more productive hour in a working day is at least $100. What is more surprising is that 65% believe that extra hour is worth at least $200 and 25% believe it is worth $500 or more. See our graphic related to the eVoice survey here.

Why Not Outsource Your Workforce?

By Sharan ColemanSo What I don’t understand is why these small businesses don’t outsource some of their “hats?” I think it’s because a lot of micro to small businesses feel they can’t afford to hire help. And with forced healthcare and increased employer taxes, they may be right. However, with companies likeIYP Management Group, how can they afford not to outsource? With outsourcing, the small business gets the best of both worlds. They get the benefit of the added help they need, without all of the added expense of hiring an employee. Companies like IYP Management Group, don’t charge exorbitant fees, they don’t require long contracts, or any contract for that matter, and you can get their services for as little as a couple of hours per day to as long as a couple of years. There’s all sorts of flexibility in hiring companies like IYP Management Group. They are much more user friendly than employment agencies or temporary hiring agencies, because they give you a lot more flexibility, and as I stated earlier, without contracts.Another benefit in hiring IYP Management Group is the almost guaranteed increased profits. How? Because as the micro to small business outsources some of the more menial administrative tasks, such as answering the telephones or data entry, scheduling appointments or making scheduling travel arrangements, the micro to small business has freed up more of their time to work on “revenue producing activities.” These revenue producing activities allows the business to do the things that actually generate revenue more often, therefore generating more revenue and bottom line profits. So now that I’ve given enough plugs for IYP Management Group, here’s how you can reach them. Call them at (772) IYP-MGT1 or locally at (770) 506-1904. Or you can email them at info@iypmanagement.com or visit them on their website at www.iypmanagement.com. Trust me, with IYP Management Group, you really get a lot of bang for the buck. And don’t worry about prices, they’ll make sure you can afford it.
